Wintering in Praia da Luz - January
A winter stay in a fishing village where slow pace feels like home
Praia da Luz is a small whitewashed fishing village on the wild western Algarve coast. The kind of place where the bakery knows your order by day three. Estrela da Luz sits right in the heart of it, a 5-minute walk from the beach and close to local cafés.
Soft, unhurried and far from the tourist crowds. A winter holiday in the Algarve at its most genuine. January here feels like the rest of the world has paused.
Where you'll stay
Praia da Luz is for those who want to truly slow down. Not just swap grey skies for sunshine, but actually land somewhere, breathe, and let the days unfold. A lively and lovely fishing village where the same café terrace becomes yours by day three.
Estrela da Luz is where you'll wake up every morning. Kiki chose it for its location, its feel, and the fact that stepping outside already feels like the walk has begun.

Your winter program in the Algarve
Embark on unforgettable hikes through breathtaking landscapes and stunning scenery.
Our intermediate-level trails typically cover around 12 kilometers, with shorter and longer options available to suit every pace. Expect an average of 200 meters of climbing, so a basic level of fitness is recommended.
Some paths are gentle and easy-going, while others offer a bit more of a challenge with longer stretches or trickier terrain, like soft sand or loose rocks. But don’t worry, we leave no man behind!
→ Step outside and you're already on the coastal path — Praia da Luz is one of Kiki's favourite starting points.
→ We will offer a cut-off or shorter version of the hikes if possible. We're happy to try our best to make sure everyone can join.
